Profile Since its foundation in 1996, the Institute for Resource Conservation, Innovation and Sustainability (IRIS) (=Institut für Ressourcenschonung, Innovation und Sustainability) has been active in the fields of "Sustainable Management Development", "Environmental Management", "Quality Management" and "Integrated Management Systems". Cooperating with the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht (HWR) > Berlin School of Economics and Law < in Berlin, the Institute has 20 members who form the core of our organisation. We provide consultancy services to build up consumers management systems and develop the organization. These include quality management and aspects of safety, environment and sustainability, resource efficiency, environmental controlling as well as the legal foundations concerned. We also provide support for a continuous improvement of the implemented management systems. The aim of our consultancy services is to enable the organizations and enterprises using organizational strategies oriented toward sustainability to conserve the resources, minimize their liability risks, cut the costs and, on the whole, increase consumers competitiveness. We provide training for the employees. What role does sustainability play in the organisation? We offer custom made training programs, where the team will acquire both the necessary knowledge and motivation. They will learn to recognise in order of sustainable development and, on this foundation, to successfully meet future chal-lenges. Develop the human capital, which the employees possess. We have the methodological know how: we offer the conceptualisation and planning of training programs to be held in customers organization or externally, plus evaluation, curricula and moderation. We provide the development of innovative, practice-oriented concepts, which make the guiding principle of sustainability practically transparent to organisations and enterprises. A team of interdisciplinary experts in economics and science will identify the targets and indicators which necessary for a sustainable outline of the or-ganization. We will provide support in developing future scenarios in the organisation, in purposefully moderating and managing the processes involved, and in presenting the results in an adequate manner. We make use of our substantial network of cooperation partners to be able to provide these services. We also cooperate with talented junior programmers, such as graduates from the master course of studies Sustainability and Quality Management and the bachelor course of stud-ies "Business Engineering Sustainability and environment" at the FHW in Berlin.
